Autosport International 2019
The yearly edition of Autosport International at Birmingham’s NEC was held from the 9th to the 12th of January this time and Dust In The Pit Lane had a ‘spy’ onsite, so it was pretty special. 🕵️♀️
Needless to say that every year this show catches the attention of all petrolhead enthusiasts out there, as it always covers all areas of motorsport and features the latest innovations in automative and performance engineering technology. If you can, it’s a must-attend event.
Once again, the 2019 World Rally Championship launch was kicked off at the show with the unveil of all the rally cars for this season, and just ahead of the iconic Rally Monte-Carlo!
I’m a big Rallying fan so my main interest in the event really, was related to WRC and the team presentations. It’s always cool to find out about liveries, the teams and what’s going to happen in general! This WRC season will certainly be very challenging. Kris Meeke is back with Toyota colors, champion Sébastien Ogier moved to Citroën and another frenchman was added to the equation: Sébastien Loeb. Yep, the king is back and after his victory in Spain last year, expectations are now high and excitement is building. Sébastien Loeb joins Hyundai with his co-driver Daniel Elena. Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak keep their seats in their respective teams but it won’t be a walk in the park for any of them.
Enough of writing, just enjoy the great photos Chris Lazenby took while in there! Obviously, there were some other pearls aside the WRC cars. 😉
